Recovery Done Simple is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by individuals with lived experience in addiction and homelessness who are now dedicated to serving others.

Our Mission

At RDS, our mission is to empower vulnerable populations across Philadelphia and surrounding areas by providing essential aid, building meaningful relationships, and driving systemic change to address homelessness, recovery, housing, and food insecurity—issues our RDS members have personally lived and overcome.

This is an outreach initiative from the streets, for the streets.

Join us in making a difference.

Our History

Founded in 2000 as a street art crew, RDS emerged from the underground with a mission. What began as a collective voice from the streets has now grown into a mission-driven outreach organization focused on serving those impacted by homelessness, addiction, and systemic neglect.

RDS has evolved into a nonprofit outreach organization dedicated to addressing the pressing issues of homelessness and addiction. Many of us have lived these realities or walked alongside those who have. We're not here to observe from the outside, we're here to engage, uplift, and reconnect.

RDS is built on lived experience. We understand the realities of life on the street—not from a distance, but from within. That understanding shapes our approach: direct outreach, harm reduction, resource connection, and real human connection.

From supplying essentials and support in encampments to helping individuals navigate recovery, housing, and reintegration, RDS is committed to showing up with consistency, compassion, and zero judgment. Our team meets people where they are—physically, emotionally, and without pretense.

We don’t just operate in the streets—we come from them. And now, we’re working to build something better.

RDS is no longer just about making marks on the city—it’s about making change within it. From the Streets-for the streets.
